Information about the school in English

Hlučin is a town in the northeast of the Czech Republic, 10 km from Ostrava. It was founded by the Czech King Premysl Otakar II in the year 1256 and it has 14,500 inhabitants. In Hlučín there are 3 primary schools attended by pupils aged from 6 to 15 years old from the 1st to 9th grade.

677 children attend Hlučin-Rovniny Elementary School and in each grade we have three parallel classes. The school operates with a total of 90 staff: 45 teachers, 6 educators, 6 teaching assistants, special educator, economist, secretary, janitor, 8 cleaners and 12 kitchen workers.

Our school focuses on teaching foreign languages. Pupils learn English mandatorily from the first grade. In the seventh grade they can add a second foreign language. They can choose between German and Russian.

The school runs the school choir, "Sun", which performs at city events and schools.

The school also hosts many different events for pupils and their parents - see the photo gallery.
